El peleador de peso gallo del UFC, Sean O'Malley, a sus 25 años ha ido posicionándose como una estrella en ascenso en la división de las 135 libras del Ultimate Fighting Championship.
O'Malley actualmente posee un récord profesional invicto de 12 triunfos, y destacan sus dos recientes victorias por la vía del KO/TKO en el primer asalto ante José Alberto Quiñónez y Eddie Wineland. Por logros como estos, sumados a su manera de llamar la atención y su poder de nocaut, desde ya hay gente que empieza a sugerir que O'Malley podría ser el próximo Conor McGregor.
Sin embargo, no todos están impresionados con O'Malley. Este es el caso del ex-campeón de peso mosca y campeón de peso gallo del UFC, Henry Cejudo, quien estuvo presente en una entrega de Now or Never de ESPN, explicando el porqué según él, Sean O'Malley está siendo sobrevalorado (vía MMAJunkie):
Henry Cejudo: "Creo que Sean O'Malley está completamente sobrevalorado. No ha peleado con nadie. No lo han puesto ante un wrestler. Siempre que le preguntan a Sean O'Malley qué es lo siguiente qué quiere hacer, (él responde) 'Quiero otro striker'. ¿Sabes qué me dice eso como competidor? Este sujeto no quiere problemas contra la jaula. Este tipo no entrena con personas que puedan desgastarlo. Si alguna vez peleara con él, lo lastimaría. Lo desgastaría, lo retendría durante quizá tres o cuatro rounds y simplemente lo lastimaría".
(Texto en inglés): "I think Sean O'Malley is completely overrated," Cejudo told ESPN's "Now or Never". "He hasn't fought nobody. They haven't put him up against a wrestler. Every time they ask Sean O'Malley who do you want next, 'I want another striker.' You know what that tells me as a competitor? That this dude does not want any smoke up against the cage. This dude doesn't train with people that can grind him. If I was to ever fight him, I would hurt him. I would grind him out, I would keep him for like maybe three to four rounds and just hurt him."
